Cocoon MummyLiner Merino Wool is a soft and warm sleeping bag liner made from 100 percent merino wool. The mummy-shaped construction fits effectively inside a sleeping bag and contributes to extra insulation while helping to keep the inside of the sleeping bag clean.

Merino wool regulates temperature, wicks away moisture and prevents bacteria and odor development. This model is therefore ideal for hiking, camping, mountain cabins and trips where you want to complement your sleeping system with a comfortable natural material.

Temperature-regulating merino wool

The fine fibers of merino wool create a soft and supple material that feels comfortable against the skin. Wool helps the body retain heat when it is cold, while its temperature-regulating properties reduce the risk of feeling trapped and excessively warm.

The material can absorb moisture and transport it away from the skin. Merino wool also naturally prevents bacterial growth and odor development, which is practical during multi-day trips and trips where washing options are limited.

The wool used is verified mulesing-free. When purchasing, Cocoon also sets requirements for how the sheep are kept, handled and cared for.

Up to 7°C extra heat

According to Cocoon, MummyLiner Merino Wool can improve the sleeping bag's temperature performance by up to 7°C. The manufacturer states that the result can vary by about one degree in either direction.

The heat gain should be considered a laboratory-based guideline and not a guaranteed comfort temperature. The result is affected by factors such as the sleeping bag, the insulation of the sleeping pad, clothing, humidity, wind protection, fit and individual cold tolerance.

A sleeping bag sheet is therefore not a substitute for a sufficiently warm sleeping bag and a sleeping pad with an appropriate R-value. However, on warm nights it can be used on its own as a light sleeping layer.

Mummy shape with adjustable hood

The tapered shape reduces the amount of excess material and helps keep the heated air volume relatively small. The hood section can be tightened with a drawstring to reduce heat loss around the head.

A wide opening at the top makes it easier to get in and out of the sheet. The foot section has a more spacious box construction that provides space for the feet, and all seams are double-stitched for better durability.

Measuring 220 × 80/60 centimeters, the model offers plenty of length while following the shape of a regular mummy sleeping bag. The packing dimensions are approximately 18 × 11 centimeters.

Use

Place the MummyLiner inside the sleeping bag and tighten the hood as needed. For the best possible insulation, the sheet should fit snugly around the body without compressing the sleeping bag's insulation.

After use, the sheet should be aired and dried completely before packing. This helps the material maintain its freshness and reduces the need for frequent washing.

Care instructions

Hand wash the sheet in cold water with a mild detergent or wool detergent. Wash dark and light colors separately.

Do not use bleach and avoid tumble drying, dry cleaning and ironing. Gently squeeze out the water without twisting the material and let the sheet dry flat to reduce the risk of the merino wool losing its shape.
