Hestra Fält Guide Glove is a robust and warm work glove for demanding winter use , developed in collaboration with Lars Fält , founder of the Swedish Armed Forces Survival School and one of Sweden's leading experts in outdoor life and survival. The glove has become a favorite among mountain guides, piste skiers and outdoor professionals who spend a lot of time outdoors in cold and exposed environments.
The construction combines extra durable Army Goat Leather in the grip surfaces with supple, impregnated cowhide on the upper side , which provides both durability and flexibility. The glove is relatively roomy in the fit to be able to bind a lot of air – an important factor for good insulation in cold weather.
The removable wool lining makes the glove very flexible. Wool is nature's own functional material that warms even when damp and is perfect for those who want to be able to switch between several dry linings during long days in the mountains or in the forest. With proper care, the Fält Guide Glove is a reliable companion for many years of skiing, hunting and winter adventures.

The Hestra Fält Guide Glove is a robust five-finger leather glove with a removable Wool Pile/Terry lining. The model has a deliberately spacious fit that allows for insulating air and allows for changing the lining during longer trips.
The size should be tried on with the included wool lining fitted.

The measurements are approximate. Measure both hands and choose the size based on the larger hand.
If you don't have a soft tape measure, you can use a string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler.
The Fält Guide Glove is designed to feel roomier than a thin work glove. The space is part of the construction and allows the wool lining to trap insulating air.
Your fingers should fit snugly into the glove's fingers without being squeezed against the ends. You should be able to bend your fingers, clench your hand, and grip poles, tools, or other equipment without the lining tightening around your knuckles.
However, the glove must not be so large that the hand slips around or that the grip feels uncertain.
Normally, choose the larger size if your hand measurement is between two sizes. This is especially important if you are using the original liner or want to supplement with a thin base liner.
Don't choose a smaller size just to take away the roomy feel of the model. A glove that is too tight compresses the wool lining, reduces the insulating air volume and can restrict blood circulation.
The leather softens and shapes with use, but you shouldn't expect a glove that is clearly too small to stretch to the correct size.
The removable Wool Pile/Terry liner is included, but a separate thin inner mitten is not included. If you plan to use an additional baseliner, try the glove on with both the wool liner and baseliner in place.
An extra liner must not cause:
A thin liner can work well, but a heavy extra inner glove requires more space and can make the glove too tight.
When the wool lining is removed, the fit becomes significantly looser. The outer glove can be used separately in milder conditions, but the size should primarily be selected for use with the original lining.
Therefore, do not choose a smaller size just because the outer shell fits tightly without lining.

The Fält Guide Glove uses Hestra Wool Pile/Terry Liner 5-finger. When replacing, the liner should normally have the same size number as the outer glove:
The Fält Guide Glove is made of impregnated goatskin and cowhide, but Hestra does not classify the model as waterproof. The glove lacks a waterproof membrane and is not intended to keep the hand dry in prolonged wet conditions.
Remove and dry the lining separately after use. Treat the leather regularly with a suitable leather conditioner to maintain its suppleness and water-repellent properties.
