The OMM Mini Whistles are three ultra-light signal whistles for running, orienteering, hiking and other outdoor activities. Each whistle weighs only 1.6 grams and can be attached to, for example, a running vest, backpack or other easily accessible equipment.

The bright orange color makes the whistles easier to find. The pack contains three, so you can place them on multiple backpacks or share them with other participants in the group.

Signaling in an emergency situation

A whistle allows you to signal for help without using as much force as shouting. It can be especially valuable in poor visibility, strong winds, or when there is no cell phone coverage.

The whistle should be positioned so that it can be reached without having to remove the backpack. Check regularly that it is still in place and that the opening is not blocked.

Ultralight mandatory equipment

Whistles are often on the list of mandatory equipment for mountain runs, trail runs and mountain marathons. Mini Whistles weigh only 1.6 grams each and take up minimal space in your pack.

Emergency signal with whistle

Mountain Rescue England and Wales recommends six clear signals over one minute, followed by a one-minute pause. Then repeat the signals until help arrives. Do not stop signaling just because you hear a response, as rescuers can use the sound to locate you.

In the event of an emergency in Sweden, call 112 whenever possible. A whistle is a complement and does not replace the ability to raise an alarm via telephone or other communication equipment.
