HydraPak Blaster Bite Valve Sheath 2-Pack

The HydraPak Blaster Bite Valve Sheath 2-Pack contains two replaceable silicone sheaths for HydraPak's Blaster bite valves. A convenient replacement part package when the valve's soft bite surface has become worn, damaged or has started to leak.

Made from durable silicone, the cover provides a soft, comfortable bite surface and fits compatible HydraPak bladders, SoftFlasks and UltraFlasks that use the older Blaster Bite Valve design.

Please note: The Blaster Sheath does not fit HydraPak's newer Comet Bite Valve or new hydration bladders from model year 2023 onwards. These models require the Comet Bite Valve Sheath.

The bite valve is one of the parts of a hydration system that is subject to the most wear and tear. By replacing just the soft valve cover, you can extend the life of your hydration bladder or soft bottle without replacing the entire valve.

The HydraPak Blaster Bite Valve Sheath is pressed directly over the existing valve body, providing the bite valve with a new, soft contact surface. HydraPak recommends replacing the valve sheath regularly, as normal wear and tear over time can degrade the seal and cause leaks.

The two-pack is practical both for ongoing maintenance and as a spare part in your running vest, bike bag or repair kit for longer runs and adventures.

Easy to change

According to HydraPak, replacing the valve cover takes less than 30 seconds.

How to replace the valve cover

Hold the hard plastic part of the valve with one hand.

Grasp the old silicone casing with your other hand.

Pull the cover straight off the valve body.

Place the new cover over the hard valve core.

Press it in until it is completely and evenly seated.

Fill the system with water and check that the valve is tight.

HydraPak describes the assembly as the hard plastic core going inside the bite valve while the soft silicone surface slides over the outside.

When should the valve cover be replaced?

Replace the casing when:

The silicone has cracked.

The valve has clear bite marks

The material has become stiff.

The valve no longer closes tightly

Water is dripping from the valve

The casing has become discolored or difficult to clean

You want to refresh an older fluid system

It is often the soft biting surface that wears out first. By replacing only the housing, the rest of the valve can continue to be used. HydraPak recommends periodic replacement to reduce the risk of leakage from normal wear.

Practical spare part for running and outdoor activities

An extra valve cover takes up little space and is practical to have with you when:

Trail running

Ultra running

Mountain running

Cycling and mountain biking

Cross-country skiing

Hiking

Fast packing

Longer competitions

Multi-day tours

Traveling with hydration systems

Cleaning and care

Rinse the valve cover regularly with warm water. If necessary, it can be removed for thorough cleaning.

For best hygiene:

Rinse after sports drinks and other flavored beverages

Allow the casing to dry completely before storing.

Avoid storing the valve damp in a closed bag.

Check regularly for cracks and bite marks

Replace the cover when the material becomes worn or stiff.

Important to consider

Please make sure you have a Blaster Bite Valve before ordering.

The product is only the soft valve cover, not a complete valve.

The valve cover does not fit the Comet Bite Valve.

It does not fit HydraPak's new hydration bladders from 2023 onwards.

Always test that the valve is tight after installation.

Replace damaged or cracked valve covers before the next activity.
