Combining the revolutionary PrimaLoft® Active insulation with OMM’s own lightweight and windproof Flexile shell, the Mountain Core jacket is an incredibly effective insulating layer that still offers excellent breathability during activities of varying intensity. The cozy lined hood provides welcome protection from cold winds.

PrimaLoft® Active is made from a synthetic down woven through a knitted mesh, providing the warmth of fleece but at less than half the weight. With all the benefits of synthetic insulation, Core products perform both wet and dry with incredible moisture-wicking properties to ensure you don’t get wet for long. With PrimaLoft® Active’s weight of 125 g/m2, 65% of the insulation comes from recycled sources.

The stretchy nylon Flexile shell material has a high degree of wind and water resistance while maintaining good breathability, perfect for mixed conditions.

Pair with a shell in inclement weather to increase the insulating benefits and protection.

BREATHABLE INSULATION

PrimaLoft® ACTIVE Insulating Fabric weaves PrimaLoft® fibers into a mesh, creating a super-high volume and open structure. Fabrics insulate by trapping air pockets that the wearer’s heat can’t pass through. The core structure is exceptional at creating these pockets. However, the openness also means that a light breeze can disrupt these air pockets and take away the insulating effect.

WARM EVEN WHEN WET

OMM always chooses synthetic insulation over down to ensure we can stay warm even when everything is wet. OMM believes that PrimaLoft® is the best synthetic insulation, so it’s an easy choice for us. 125 g/m2 PrimaLoft® ACTIVE uses 64% post-consumer recycled content, and is also bluesign and Oeke-Tex approved.
