The Silva Compass Terra Ranger S is a compact mirror compass for hiking, hunting and outdoor activities. It combines mirror aiming, clear map scales and luminescent markings for map and compass navigation.
The easy-grip compass ring makes it easy to handle, while the detachable neck strap keeps the compass close at hand. The lid and graduation ring are made of REVO material with recycled plastic and hemp fibers.
The mirror allows you to see the compass needle while aiming at a point in the terrain. This makes it easier when you want to take an accurate direction to, for example, a height, a clear landmark or a point further along the route.
The Terra Ranger S is particularly suitable for open terrain where you need to take directions over longer distances. When aiming, the mirror is angled to approximately 45 degrees so that the compass housing can be read while keeping the target in sight.
The base plate has a millimeter scale as well as map scales for 1:25,000 and 1:50,000. They help you measure distances on maps with the corresponding scale.
The rotating compass housing is used in conjunction with the Silva 1-2-3 system to pick out and follow a direction. Inside the capsule is a fixed declination scale that helps you take into account the difference between true and magnetic north.
The lid and graduation ring are made from REVO, a material that combines recycled polymers with plant fibers from hemp. The material is undyed, which gives natural variations in appearance.
The compass has a waterproof construction and luminescent markings that make it easier to read in the dark after being charged with daylight or a lamp.
