Nikwax Rug Proof™ 5 litre is a high performance waterproofing product developed to restore the water repellency, insulation and breathability of all types of horse rugs and blankets. The product is specifically designed for professional use, stables, riding schools and horse owners with multiple rugs that require regular maintenance.

The impregnation is easily used directly in the washing machine and is completely PFC-free, water-based and non-flammable . Rug Proof improves the function of the rug by reducing water absorption, which means that the horse rug stays drier, lighter and more insulating – even in cold, wet conditions.

The product is compatible with all waterproof horse rugs and is recommended by leading manufacturers such as Rambo® .

User manual – Washing machine

For best results, always clean the rug first with Nikwax Rug Wash™ .

Clean the detergent drawer from residues of regular detergent

Add a clean horse blanket (max 1 per wash)

Use 500 ml Rug Proof per blanket

Run 30 °C cotton program

🔹 Air dry or tumble dry on low heat if the care label allows
