Lundhags Leather Grease is a natural and softening leather grease for boots and other leather products. The grease penetrates the material, cares for dry leather and improves its water-repellent properties.

The product is made according to Lundhags' traditional family recipe with fat, tar, linseed oil and beeswax. Regular treatment helps the leather maintain its suppleness and can extend the life of the boots.

Deep-acting care for leather boots

Leather Grease penetrates deeper into the leather than a regular leather wax. It re-greases and softens the material, making the product suitable for dry or stiff leather boots that need more in-depth care.

The leather grease helps the boots resist moisture but does not in itself make a shoe or boot completely waterproof.

How to use Lundhags Leather Grease

Brush away loose dirt from the boots.

If necessary, clean the leather with lukewarm water and a soft brush.

Let the boots dry thoroughly at room temperature.

Apply a thin and even layer of leather grease to the leather parts.

Work the grease in with a soft cloth, especially around seams and bends.

Allow the treatment to penetrate and wipe away any excess.

Do not apply leather grease to the boot's cellular rubber or outsole. Avoid drying the boots over an open flame, directly on a radiator or at temperatures above 40°C.

Important for nubuck, suede and light leather

Leather Grease can darken the leather and change the brushed finish of nubuck and suede. The grease usually gives a greater color change than Lundhags Leather Wax.

If you want to maintain the original matte and brushed look of nubuck leather, you should use a suitable impregnation spray. Always test the leather grease on a less visible area before treating the entire boot.

Follow the shoe manufacturer's care instructions before using the product on boots with membranes or other special materials.

How often should the leather be treated?

Treat the boots when the leather feels dry, stiff or starts to absorb water. Lundhags recommends that new boots be treated carefully during the first three to four uses.

How often the treatment needs to be repeated depends on use, weather and how much the boots are exposed to moisture, dirt and wear.

The Difference Between Leather Grease and Leather Wax

Leather Grease penetrates deeper into the leather and softens it more. Choose leather grease when the material is dry, stiff or needs more intensive re-greasing.

Leather Wax sits more on the surface and softens the leather less. It is suitable when you want to improve protection but maintain a firmer and more stable feel, for example on Lundhags three-layer boots.
