Sea To Summit Ultra-Fine Mesh Mosquito Head Net is a lightweight and very fine mesh mosquito net for the head, face and neck. The ultra-fine mesh helps protect against both mosquitoes and smaller biting insects such as gnats, gadflies and sandflies.
The net has 310 holes per cm², which is significantly denser than Sea to Summit's standard main net with 80 holes per cm². This makes the model particularly useful in areas where very small insects are present. Despite the dense construction, the net weighs only about 23 grams and takes up very little space in the pack.
The hexagonal mesh structure has 2,000 holes per square inch, equivalent to 310 holes per cm². The mesh density creates a physical barrier even against insects that can get through coarser mosquito nets.
The material is made of soft and lightweight 15D monofilament nylon. The thin construction keeps weight and pack volume down, while providing significantly finer protection than Sea to Summit's Nano Head Net.
Because the mesh is denser, the air flow can be slightly lower than through a regular mosquito net. This model is therefore particularly suitable for places where protection against small insects is a priority.
The black mesh material provides better visibility than the corresponding white or light mesh. When the eyes focus on the surroundings, the thin, dark mesh becomes less prominent in the field of vision.
The net lacks a rigid spacer ring to keep weight and pack size down. For best comfort, it should therefore be used in conjunction with a cap or hat. The visor or brim keeps the net away from the face and reduces the risk of insects reaching the skin through the material. Headgear not included.
The elastic drawstring around the neck allows you to adjust the opening and make the net close tightly. The one-size fit is designed to work with different head sizes and with most caps and hats.
When not in use, the net packs down into the small storage bag provided. The bag protects the thin material from getting caught on other equipment and makes the net easy to store in a pocket or backpack.
The Ultra-Fine Mesh Mosquito Head Net is not Sea to Summit's separate Insect Shield model. The protection is based on the net's high mesh density and works without a factory-applied chemical insect treatment.
This means that the net can be used by those who want to avoid applying insecticide directly to the face. Always check that the net is intact and that the neck opening is properly closed, as tears and gaps reduce protection.

Pull the net over your head so that it covers your face and neck. Adjust the drawstring so that the opening closes tightly without feeling uncomfortable. It is advisable to tuck the bottom edge inside the collar to reduce the risk of insects getting in from underneath.
Preferably use the net over a cap or hat with a visor or brim. Before each use, check that the material is free of holes and tears.
Handle the thin net with care and avoid contact with branches, Velcro and sharp objects. If necessary, it can be rinsed or hand washed gently in lukewarm water. Allow the net to air dry completely before packing it into the storage bag.
Store the product dry and protected from direct sunlight, heat and objects that may damage the mesh structure.
