Scarpa Alien R is a lightweight touring boot for skimo, skin training and tours where low weight and efficient uphill skiing are the focus. The combination of fiber-reinforced Grilamid®, BOA® Fit System and Speed Lock Lite provides a precise fit and smooth transition between walking and riding positions.
With a weight of approximately 870 grams per ski boot in size 27, Alien R is suitable for those who want to gain altitude and develop in ski touring.
The shell is made of Carbon Grilamid® LFT, a carbon fiber reinforced plastic that combines low weight with torsional rigidity. The cuff is made of fiberglass reinforced Grilamid® FG LFT for support around the lower leg.
In walking mode, the boot offers 72 degrees of freedom of movement. This makes it easier to take natural steps during the climb. The forward tilt can be set to two positions, 9 or 13 degrees, to adapt the position when skiing downhill.
The BOA® Fit System fine-tunes the fit over the ankle with a twist dial. The system tightens around the liner and helps hold the foot in place.
The Speed Lock Lite connects the walking and riding mechanism to the cuff's Dyneema® cord. With one movement, you lock or release the cuff, simplifying the transitions between uphill and downhill skiing.
The Vibram® UFO sole provides traction on a variety of surfaces. The rubber compound is adapted for cold conditions and provides durability when the tour includes sections where you need to wear your skis.

The Alien R has a stated last width of 99 mm and a precise fit. Based on the length of the foot in Mondopoint, try the boot with the socks you use when skiing. The heel should be held steady while the fit works on longer climbs.
