The Nordisk Lofoten 1 + 2 ULW Footprint is a custom-made and waterproof tent groundsheet for the Nordisk Lofoten 1 ULW and Lofoten 2 ULW. It protects the thin tent floor against ground moisture, dirt, stones and sharp objects, which can extend the life of the tent.
The footprint covers the entire ground surface under the outer tent and at the same time creates a cleaner and drier storage area for shoes, gear and other equipment.

The Nordisk Lofoten 1 + 2 ULW Footprint is a specially adapted tent groundsheet for those who want to give their ultralight Lofoten tent extra protection against moisture and wear. The groundsheet is placed between the tent and the ground and reduces the tent floor's direct contact with soil, sand, gravel, roots and sharp rocks.
It is compatible with both the Nordisk Lofoten 1 ULW and the Nordisk Lofoten 2 ULW , which means that the same footprint can be used regardless of which of the two inner tents is mounted in the Lofoten modular outer tent.
The footprint covers the entire ground area under the outer tent. It creates a clean and waterproof surface even outside the sleeping area of the inner tent, where you can store shoes, backpack, kitchen equipment and other gear without putting it directly on wet or dirty ground.
The material consists of durable 70D nylon with a PU coating and a water column of 10,000 mm . The construction provides reliable protection against ground moisture, while the additional fabric helps preserve the thinner floor of your ultra-light tent.
The footprint can also limit the amount of ground moisture that reaches the area under the outer tent. This can contribute to a drier and more comfortable climate in the tent, especially when spending the night on damp ground.
With a total weight of around 200 grams, it is a useful accessory for longer hikes, bikepacking and tours where you want to protect the tent without adding unnecessary weight or pack volume.

Ultralight tents use thin materials to keep weight and pack volume down. A footprint creates an extra layer of protection between the tent floor and the ground, thereby reducing direct wear and tear.
It provides, among other things:
Better protection on rocky and uneven ground
Less risk of holes and damage to the tent floor
Extra barrier against soil moisture
Cleaner tent when packing up
Drier surface for shoes and equipment
Easier cleaning after the ride
Potentially longer lifespan of the tent floor
A footprint is especially valuable for frequent use and on trips where it is not always possible to choose a soft and even tent site.
Spread out the footprint on the chosen tent site before setting up the tent. Align the footprint to the shape of the outer tent and then place the tent on top.
Make sure the footprint is completely inside the outer edges of the flysheet. Any protruding material can collect rainwater and lead it under the tent floor.
In wet conditions, choose your tent site carefully. Avoid depressions and pits where water can collect.

Shake off loose soil, sand and other debris after use. Rinse the footprint with clean, lukewarm water if necessary.
Allow the substrate to dry completely before storing for an extended period of time. If it is packed away damp, mold, bad odors and damage to the coating may occur.
Avoid washing machines, dryers, strong detergents and solvents. Regularly check the material and attachment points for damage.
The footprint provides extra protection but does not make the tent immune to damage. Remove sharp rocks, branches and pine cones from the tent site before laying out the ground.
Make sure that no parts protrude outside the flysheet when it rains. A protruding footprint can act as a collection surface and channel water under the tent.
The product consists of only the footprint and packing bag. The tent is sold separately.
It fits all Nordisk Lofoten 1 ULW and Lofoten 2 ULW tents.

A footprint protects the thin, ultra-light tent floor from ground moisture, dirt, stones and wear and tear, thus helping to extend the life of the tent.
This can limit the amount of ground moisture reaching the area under the flysheet, contributing to a drier climate. However, condensation is also affected by temperature, humidity and ventilation.
