The Åsnes Combat NATO BC with Rottefella Xplore binding is an extremely robust and reliable touring ski package, developed for demanding mountain terrain, heavy loads and varying snow conditions. Originally developed for military use, the ski is built to perform when it really matters – whether it's steep climbs, fast descents or long hauls in deep snow.

Military-developed mountain ski for tough conditions

The Combat NATO BC is a lightweight but very durable touring ski with a full steel edge and a clear 22 mm sidecut , which provides both stability and good turning ability. The balanced width in combination with a moderate span zone provides:

safe control in steep terrain

good floatation in deeper snow

stable riding with pack or sled

This is a ski designed for fast movement in varied terrain , with a focus on function and reliability.

Non-sheathing base with NATO X-Skin system

The ski has a non-shedding base that provides reliable grip in moderate terrain and minimizes the need for maintenance. The binding zone is reinforced with Titanal , which increases durability and power transfer during active skiing.

The Combat NATO BC is milled for NATO X-Skin (45 mm) – a short synthetic skin specially adapted for the model. This provides extra grip when needed without compromising glide. There is also a mount at the rear of the ski for mounting a short skin in extreme temperatures or very demanding conditions.

Rottefella Xplore – maximum control and stability

The included Rottefella Xplore BC binding provides superior lateral stability compared to traditional BC systems. Developed for more active mountaineering, the binding provides better power transfer and control in downhill situations, while also functioning effectively during long walking sessions.
