Dynafit Crampons 120 mm are lightweight crampons that provide extra grip when climbing on hard-packed and frozen snow. They complement the skins when the surface becomes too hard for the skins to provide sufficient grip.

The cleats are mounted in the cleat attachment of the binding and are pressed into the snow when you load the ski. This provides support against sliding both backwards and sideways, for example during traverses on hard spring snow.

With a width of 120 mm, the model is an alternative to wider touring skis. The low weight makes the crampons easy to take with you when the tour can offer changing snow conditions. Dynafit states a weight of 115 g for the model.

Choose the right width and check the binding

The width needs to fit the ski where the cutting edge is located. Dynafit recommends cutting edges that are at least 5 mm wider than the ski waist . This means, for example, that a 120 mm cutting edge gives a 5 mm margin for a ski waist of 115 mm.

Also check that your binding model has a compatible mount. Try the combination of skis, bindings and cutting irons at home before your first ride.

Assembly and use

Insert the cutting blade upright into the attachment at the toe of the binding, center it and fold it down over the ski. Follow the instructions for use of the binding and cutting blade.

Mount the crampons on a flat surface before you reach the hard section. Use a level walking position so that the tines reach deep into the snow. The crampons should be removed before going downhill and used on snow, not on rock or bare ice.
