Beta-Alanine is an amino acid that combines with Histidine to maintain levels of Carnosine in the muscles.

Beta-Alanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that plays a key role in the formation of Carnosine – a substance that is stored in our muscles. Carnosine is formed when Beta-Alanine combines with histidine, and since histidine is already found in abundant quantities in muscle cells, it is primarily the availability of Beta-Alanine that controls how much Carnosine can be stored. By supplying Beta-Alanine via diet or supplementation, you can therefore influence Carnosine levels in muscle tissue
