The OMM Leanweight Kit is an ultra-lightweight compression panel that attaches to the outside of compatible OMM backpacks. The stretchy mesh panel creates an easy-to-access storage area for things like wet outerwear, a helmet, or a dry bag with gear you want to access quickly.
Weighing just 40 grams, the Leanweight Kit expands the functionality of your pack without adding unnecessary weight. Multiple attachment and compression points distribute pressure across the panel and help keep your gear stable when running, hiking or moving through technical terrain.
The stretch mesh is especially useful for wet or dirty shell garments that you don't want to put inside the backpack with dry gear. The open construction provides ventilation and makes it easy to quickly stow the jacket away when the rain stops.
The panel can also be used for a helmet or a separate drybag filled with items that need to be easily accessible. The Leanweight Kit is not waterproof – equipment that needs to be kept dry should therefore be placed in a drybag.
The mesh material molds to the contents and helps keep both smaller and bulkier items in place. The multiple attachment points on the sides of the panel provide even compression and reduce the risk of the pack moving during activity.
Reflective details contribute to better visibility in low light, while the black color matches OMM's various backpack models.
The Leanweight Kit is designed for OMM backpacks with the Universal Gear Rail, UGR, and compatible loops or mounts on the outside of the backpack. The accessory fits most of OMM's traditional running and mountain marathon backpacks.
It can be fitted to the OMM Classic and Phantom, however as these models already have a large stretch pocket at the front the Leanweight Kit will block access to the existing pocket. The accessory is not compatible with the OMM Fire Race Vest series, which lack the required fasteners.

Attach the panel to the backpack's Universal Gear Rail and other designated loops or buckles. Distribute the attachment points evenly on both sides and tighten the bungee cord until the equipment is securely in place without being compressed more than necessary.
Check the attachments before you start running and after changing the contents. Bulky or heavy equipment should be placed as close to the backpack as possible to maintain stable weight distribution.

Shake or brush off loose dirt after use. If necessary, the panel can be hand washed in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Avoid washing machines, dryers, fabric softeners and direct heat as this may affect the elasticity of the mesh material and rope.
