The OMM Sonic Womens Jacket is an ultralight, highly breathable windbreaker designed for trail running, mountain running and fast-paced activities where every gram counts. Weighing in at just 54 grams, the Sonic offers impressive wind protection in a garment that is barely noticeable – whether on the body or in your pack.

The jacket is made from PointZero™ material , an extremely thin and windproof nylon ripstop fabric that provides maximum wind protection without compromising breathability . A DWR (Durable Water Repellency) treatment provides extra protection against light rain, snow and damp conditions, although the Sonic is primarily a wind jacket and not a waterproof shell.

The women's specific fit provides a free-flowing and flexible feel while running. The Sonic Womens Jacket is designed to be ultra-packable and can be packed into its own collar , making it easy to carry with you at all times – whether in a running vest, backpack or pocket.

How is the Sonic Womens Jacket sized?

OMM classifies the Sonic Jacket W as Fitted , which means a close-fitting and performance-oriented fit. The jacket is primarily designed to be worn over a base layer, a running shirt or another thin layer.

The ultra-light PointZero material does not have the same elasticity as a stretchy softshell material, so the jacket should not fit so tightly that it constricts across the shoulders, chest or back.

Our size recommendation

• Over base layer or thin running shirt: Choose your normal size according to the chart.
• If you are between two sizes: Choose the smaller size for a close race fit and the larger size for more room to move.
• Over fleece or thicker midlayers: Go up one size.
• If bust and butt correspond to different sizes: Start with the largest measurement.
• If your bust circumference is around 90 cm: Choose M for a very close fit over a thin layer or L for more room.
• If you prefer a looser jacket: Go up a size, especially if you have broader shoulders or want to wear multiple layers.

How do you measure?

Bust circumference

Measure around the fullest part of your bust. Hold the tape measure horizontally across your back and do not pull it too tight.

Joint circumference

Stand with your feet close together and measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks. Make sure the measuring tape is flat.

Please measure with the sweater or base layer that you normally intend to wear under the jacket.

Check the fit

The correct size should:

• Can be closed without the zipper tightening across the chest
• provide full freedom of movement when the arms are moved forward and above the head
• allow you to use the thumb grips without the sleeves pulling
• sit close to the body without obvious tension folds over the shoulders and back
• make room for the storage you plan to use underneath
• stay over your hips when you run
• not have so much excess material that the jacket flaps violently in the wind

The Sonic Womens Jacket is primarily a windbreaker and not a roomy outerwear for multiple thick layers. If the jacket is to be worn over fleece or light insulation, a larger size is normally recommended.
