The OMM Kamleika Jacket is an iconic running and mountaineering jacket , designed specifically for trail running, mountain running and technical running in really tough conditions . First launched in 2005, the jacket is now in its sixth generation , with a focus on freedom of movement, durability, weather protection and environmental responsibility .

Kamleika is known for its unique construction: a 4-way stretch, soft and fully waterproof material that feels like a softshell but protects like a full mountain shell. The jacket is built to be worn and run in , not just packed away as an emergency solution, and offers high comfort even when worn all day in rain, wind and cold weather.

The latest generation uses a PFAS-free membrane and PFC-free DWR treatment , reducing environmental impact without compromising performance. The material has a water column of 20,000 mm and breathability of 20,000 g/m²/24h , making the jacket well suited for high-intensity running in bad weather.

The Kamleika Jacket is fully equipped with features typically found in rugged mountain shells: fully taped seams, YKK AquaGuard zippers, two hand pockets , adjustable elastic waistband with dynamic droptail , and adjustable cuffs with integrated thumbholes . The laminated hood with a moldable visor stays stable even in strong winds and follows the movements of the head while running.

Weighing in at around 265 grams, Kamleika combines robust protection with impressive mobility and comfort. The soft construction makes the jacket exceptionally quiet when running , something that is often highlighted in tests as a great advantage during long sessions in exposed environments.

The OMM Kamleika Men's Jacket is a waterproof shell jacket with four-way stretch, designed for running and high-intensity activities in demanding weather. The jacket has a Regular Fit , which gives it a bit more room than many of OMM's more body-hugging running garments.

Start with your chest measurement first. Also check your height and waist measurement and take into account which layers you want to wear under the jacket.

How is the OMM Kamleika Men's Jacket sized?

The Kamleika Jacket has a regular, performance-oriented fit. It's roomier than OMM Fitted and Contact Fit garments, but still designed to sit relatively close to the body and reduce flutter while running.

The jacket should allow room for a base layer and a thinner midlayer. The material's four-way stretch provides good freedom of movement over the shoulders, back and arms, but the jacket should not have to be stretched out to accommodate the garments underneath.

Our size recommendation

Normally choose your usual OMM size and base it primarily on your chest measurement.

  • If your chest measurement is in the middle of a range, we recommend the current size.
  • Choose the smaller size if you are between two sizes, have a slim build and primarily use a thin base layer underneath.
  • Choose the larger size if you are near the upper end of the range, have broad shoulders, or want to use a heavier midlayer.
  • Also check your waist measurement if your upper body measurements place you in different sizes.
  • Don't go up more than necessary – a jacket that's too roomy can flap and feel bulky while running.

Layers under the jacket

Kamleika Jacket is an outer garment and the size should be chosen according to the use you plan to make.

Over base layer or thin running shirt: Normally choose the size that corresponds to your chest measurement.

Over base layers and thin midlayers: Your normal size should usually provide enough room thanks to the Regular Fit and the stretch of the material.

Over a heavier insulation layer: Consider going up a size, especially if you're at the upper end of the size range.

How do you measure?

Chest: Measure around the widest part of the chest with the measuring tape horizontal and relaxed.

Waist: Measure around the natural waist without tightening the tape measure.

Body length: Measure barefoot from the floor to the highest point of the head.

Please measure with the base and midlayer that you plan to use under the shell jacket.

Check the fit

Try the jacket on over your planned layers, close the zipper and adjust the hem and cuffs. Then check that:

  • the jacket is not tight across the chest, shoulders or back
  • you can stretch your arms forward and over your head
  • the material is not pulled taut between the shoulder blades
  • sleeves reach the wrists even when the arms are bent
  • the integrated thumb loops can be used without the sleeves pulling
  • the extended back stays in place when you lean forward
  • the hood can be adjusted without restricting head movement
  • the jacket fits close enough not to flutter while running

The right size should allow room for your planned layers while maintaining the jacket's smooth, movement-friendly fit.
