When Silva designed the Free headlamp, they wanted to create more from less. Less hassle, less heat and less complexity. The challenge required us to think outside the box and innovate completely. The result is the Free headlamp. They have removed everything that was unnecessary and made everything that was good even better. The super low mode (80 lumens) allows for long training sessions and competitions with reduced battery consumption when full brightness is not needed. For example, in alpine skiing, only the low light mode is needed and the battery's burn time can be saved.

With Silva Free, you can put together the optimal headlamp according to your needs. Choose between three different lamp units, four batteries and three mounting kits (helmet mount, handlebar mount and GoPro mount). All parts are interchangeable. Add an extra lamp unit, an extra battery or mounting kit and the lamp is suitable for multiple sports. All parts in the Free series can be purchased separately.

Choosing a headlamp is largely about finding the right balance between lumens (brightness), burn time and weight. These are affected by each other and depend on the activity it will be used for. Therefore, consider the relationship between brightness and how long and how fast it will be used. The higher the speed, the more powerful the lamp is needed. Choose Free 1200 lumens and a lighter battery for trail running and cross-country skiing. Choose Free 2000-3000 lumens in brightness and a heavier battery for higher speeds and demanding terrain, such as when cycling or skiing.

With the accompanying extension cable, the battery can be placed in, for example, a pocket or backpack. Bicycle mount, helmet mount and Go-pro mount are available as accessories for Silva Free, as well as extra long extension cables and top straps.

Airflow Technology

Developed together with experts in thermodynamics, the Airflow technology means that the lamps are designed with an optimized aluminum heatsink that, together with the protective plastic casing, provides maximum ventilation and cooling. The result is a lamp with really good light regardless of activity, even if the airflow or cooling is not optimal.

Modular Technology

Free is based on Modular Technology, a fully modular technology that provides flexibility and the ability to supplement or upgrade the lamp with a different battery, lamp head or mount. The lamp and battery can be easily disconnected from the headband and instead attached to the helmet, bicycle handlebar or frame.

Silva Intelligent Light

All headlamps in the Free series feature Silva Intelligent Light, which optimizes the light image with a unique combination of focused distance light that shines far and wide angle light that illuminates close up. This results in less head movement and a clear image of any obstacles both at short and long distances, which provides better balance and greater safety.
