Hilleberg started from their best-selling test winner Akto when they developed the Enan. The goal was to create a three-season tent that was as light as possible without losing the strength required of a Hilleberg tent. They could have made the Enan even lighter, but then it would not have lived up to the Hilleberg standard of durability and functionality.
Hilleberg used Akto's proven construction with one pole in full length pole channel and reduced weight by using the lighter Kerlon 1000 fabric in the outer tent and a very light inner tent fabric. Meanwhile, they kept the same DAC NSL 9mm bars as the Akto because the weight savings from going down in dimension is negligible while the loss in strength is significant.
Enan's ventilation is, just like in all Yellow Label tents, integrated into the construction – the inner tent door is entirely made of knot-proof mosquito netting and the head and foot ends are made of strong netting for best air flow. If it's windy and rainy, you can roll down fabric flaps made of Kerlon 1000 to cover the mesh parts of the outer tent. When these flaps are not in use, they are easily rolled away into integrated storage pockets.
