Hilleberg Niak is a very light and stable 3-season dome tent in Hilleberg's Yellow Label series , developed for tours in snow-free conditions . Designed for 1-2 people , the tent is an excellent choice for those who want to minimize pack weight without compromising on quality and reliability .
Niak works well as a two-man tent for the weight-conscious , but is especially appreciated as a spacious and comfortable solo tent . With its self-supporting dome construction and two intersecting tent poles, it is both quick to pitch and stable in windy weather. The construction is inspired by Hilleberg's more robust Unna model, but in a significantly lighter version.
The flysheet is made of Kerlon 1000 , Hilleberg's lightest outer fabric, which provides very high tear strength in relation to its low weight . The tent is supported by 9 mm DAC NSL aluminum poles , which provides a good balance between strength and low weight. The vestibule is placed along the long side and provides space for packing and shoes, while it can be rolled up completely for maximum ventilation on warm summer nights.
Tested for over 250 nights in varying weather and terrain , including Scandinavia and the Alps, Niak has earned a reputation for its durability, simplicity and functionality . It is a tent that is equally well suited for mountain hiking, cycling and canoeing , as well as for longer solo trips where comfort and light weight are a priority.
