Hilleberg Akto is a lightweight, spacious and highly reliable one-man tent with true four-season functionality , developed for solo trips where low weight and high safety are crucial. Since its introduction in the 1990s, Akto has become an icon among long-distance hikers and solo adventurers , and is now used in all types of climates worldwide.

Although Akto only weighs around 1.7 kg complete , it offers robust double-walled protection that can handle rain, wind and snow very well. The tent is built as a tunnel tent with a single transverse pole , which provides an excellent space-to-weight ratio. The construction makes Akto particularly well suited for mobile trips where the camp is moved frequently , such as long-distance hiking, mountaineering, cycling and canoeing.

The outer tent is made of Kerlon 1200 , a silicone-coated ripstop nylon with a very high tear strength to weight ratio. Together with the 9 mm aluminum pole, this results in a tent that is relatively light but still significantly more storm-resistant than typical 3-season tents. This makes Akto excellent even on winter trips, despite its minimal packing volume.

Akto has a spacious vestibule that runs along the long side of the inner tent, offering plenty of space for packing and sheltered cooking. The inner and outer tents are connected but can be separated, making it possible to pitch the tent quickly in the rain without the inner tent getting wet .
