Montane Trail Lite Gaiters are ultra-light ankle gaiters for trail and mountain running. They fit snugly around the ankle and over the shoe opening to prevent pebbles, sand, needles and other debris from entering the shoe.

The thin and highly elastic material follows the movements of the ankle without feeling restrictive. With a weight of only around 35 grams per pair and a very small pack volume, the gaiters are ideal for runners who want to carry as little as possible.

Ultralight protection for running shoes

Trail Lite Gaiters are designed for fast movement on trails and in mountainous terrain. They protect the area between the shoe and the ankle, reducing the risk of gravel and other loose material finding its way into the shoes.

The body-hugging construction also reduces the risk of the gaiters getting caught in vegetation. The model is particularly well suited for summer running, competitions, ultra races and other activities where low weight and freedom of movement are a priority.

Super stretch for unhindered movement

The main material is a highly elastic blend of polyester and elastane. The material molds around the ankle and works with low-cut trail and running shoes without a strap under the sole.

The front panel is made of durable nylon stretch and has a fluorocarbon-free, water-repellent treatment. The gaiters provide some protection against light moisture and dirt but are not waterproof.

Easy attachment without a strap under the shoe

A metal hook at the front attaches to the shoelace. At the back, the gaiter connects to a self-adhesive hook and loop fastener on the heel of the shoe. Extra attachment plates are included so that the gaiters can be used with more than one pair of shoes or when the original fasteners need to be replaced.

Since the model lacks a strap under the sole, there is no strap exposed to wear and tear on the ground.

The Difference Between Trail Lite and Trail Gaiters

The Montane Trail Lite Gaiters are the lightest option, prioritizing light weight, stretch, and freedom of movement. They are especially suited for running in drier conditions and on trails where the primary need is to keep gravel and debris out of your shoes.

Montane Trail Gaiters feature stronger materials, more reinforcement, and an adjustable strap under the shoe. This model is a better choice when durability and secure fit are prioritized over the lowest possible weight.
