Exped Tool Blade is an ultra-light and flexible attachment system that makes it possible to mount modern ice axes and ice tools to almost any backpack . Unlike fixed solutions, the Tool Blade can be placed freely on the bag , which allows the placement to be easily adapted to the bag's construction and the shape of the tool.

The attachment consists of three parts : an aluminum blade unit , an elastic mounting cord , and a pull cord that facilitates handling even with mittens or gloves . The elastic cord allows the Tool Blade to be attached to daisy chains or loops on the outside of the backpack, and the ice axe is quickly and intuitively secured through the tool head.

The system is designed for climbing, alpine touring and ski/mountaineering , where safe, quick and accessible storage of ice tools is essential. The tool can be removed quickly and without hassle , even in exposed environments. For extra stability, a second Tool Blade or strap can be used to secure the lower part of the ice axe to the backpack.
