The HILLEBERG WIND BAG was originally CONSTRUCTED to function as a beehive bag in emergencies, but it has proven to be perhaps even more useful as a temporary protection in bad weather during ski trips and other winter adventures. The windsock has a well-ventilated but water-repellent front and completely waterproof silicone-coated nylon fabric in the back.

If you want protection quickly, you can use the windbag's loops in the corners to raise a windbreak. If you need additional protection, you can unfold the windsock, climb in and huddle against the forces of the weather. It is best to dig out a place in the snow or find a place that offers some protection from the wind. The windbag's waterproof back / air-permeable front, zipper with several runners and with a closable lower part means that the windbag can also be used as a sleeping bag cover when using a tarp.

As a beehive bag in emergencies, it can hold people as well as sleeping pads and sleeping bags. The built-in safety line prevents it from blowing away in strong winds when getting in and out of it and there are loops in the four corners that can be used for anchoring. The upper zipper has four runners that can be used to create "holes" for the head or ventilation openings and the drawstring can be used to pull the windbag together at the bottom. With a waterproof back and air-permeable front, it is well suited for use in snow pits and it can also be tensioned with the red side up to signal for help. It can also be stretched like an improvised tarp.
