The LEKI Makalu FX Carbon is a high-performance, foldable carbon trekking pole , designed for mountain hiking, mountaineering and demanding backpacking where low weight, maximum control and high reliability are essential. The Makalu is one of LEKI's most iconic models, combining classic stability with modern FX construction for easy packability without compromising on performance.

The pole is made of PRC 1000 carbon fiber , which provides a very stiff and vibration-damping construction with low swing weight. The foldable 5-piece FX design means that the pole quickly folds down to a compact pack length of around 40–42 cm , perfect when you want to store it in or outside your backpack during transport or technical passages.

The ergonomic Aergon Air handle is designed for long-lasting comfort and precise control. The handle’s hollow-core technology combines low weight with large support surfaces, while the rubberized back provides extra grip and stability on steep descents. The inclined grip angle relieves the wrist and contributes to efficient and safe pole insertion. An extended foam grip provides additional grip options on steep ascents and descents.

The Speed Lock 2 Plus system allows the pole to be adjusted quickly and securely in the terrain, even with gloves. It is infinitely adjustable in lengths from 110 to 130 cm . The carbide Flex Tip provides reliable grip on rocks, gravel and hard ground, while the trekking trough prevents the pole from sinking into soft ground.
