the OMM Core Zipped Vest

A new concept in active insulation, the OMM Core Range is made entirely of PrimaLoft® ACTIVE ultralight insulating fabric. Built from a synthetic down woven through a knitted mesh, Core offers the warmth of a fleece but with less than half the weight. Paired with a shell, the Core is an incredibly effective insulator, but thanks to near-total air permeability, the lightest breeze can strip away that warmth. This allows you to keep your Core layer even when you've warmed up and you can thermo-regulate by removing/rolling up your shell (eg Sonic Windproof at 49g). A real valley to a peak. Core works wet or dry with incredible moisture wicking properties to ensure you don't stay wet for long.

With a full-length zip and a warm anti-pull collar, this is a great mid-layer just as at home on the mountains as it is on a rest day. The vest's fit allows for good insulation without extra bulk or overheating.

The Core Zipped Vest uses the mid-weight 125g/m2 PrimaLoft® ACTIVE Insulating Fabric Technology, the heavier version of the 75g/m2 PrimaLoft® Active fabric used in the Core Vest and Core Hoodie.

PrimaLoft® ACTIVE Insulation fabric weaves PrimaLoft® fibers onto a mesh, creating a super high volume and open structure. Fabrics insulate by trapping air pockets that the wearer's heat cannot pass through. The core structure is exceptional in creating these pockets. But the openness also allows a light breeze to disrupt these air pockets and remove the insulating effect. Core uses this to its advantage; add a light shell over the top for the best possible warmth to weight layer and then when you get too hot just adjust/remove the shell and you can keep pushing hard to the top without a bulky layer to hide.
