The Altra Women's Olympus 275 is generally regular to slightly roomy in size. The model uses Altra's Original FootShape, the brand's roomiest fit with a wide toe box and extra room through the midfoot.

Measure both feet and compare the measurements of the longer foot with the table before choosing a size.

How is the Altra Olympus 275 Woman sized?

User experiences vary from normal to slightly large in size. Several tests describe the model as normal in length, while a compilation of 12 user opinions at RunRepeat leans towards it feeling slightly large.

A female tester who normally wears a US 10 to 10.5 chose a US 10 and found the fit to be good. The base is still limited, but the overall picture shows that most people don't need to go up a size.

Fit
Experience
Length
Normal to slightly spacious
Toe box
Very wide and foot-shaped
Toe height
Generous vertical space
Metatarsal
Roomier than many trail shoes
Top
Shapes to the foot but provides structured support
Narrow feet
Can be perceived as voluminous

The Olympus 275 should not automatically be considered the same size as the Olympus 6. The older model is perceived by some as short, while the 275 is more often described as normal or slightly roomy.

Our size recommendation

First of all, choose your usual size in Altra women's shoes.

Choose the smaller size if:

  • you are exactly between two sizes
  • you have narrow or low-volume feet
  • you want a more precise fit for technical terrain
  • the larger size allows movement around the heel and midfoot
  • you have previously experienced the Olympus 275 as spacious

Choose the larger size if:

  • your measurement is close to the larger size in the table
  • you have a wide or voluminous metatarsal
  • you wear thicker socks
  • you are going to run very far and want to have room for swollen feet
  • the toes come close to the front edge of the shoe when running downhill

Don't go down a size just because the toe box feels wide. Your toes should be able to move freely, while your heel and midfoot should be held firmly in place.

How to measure your feet

  1. Measure your feet in the afternoon or evening when they are usually at their largest.
  2. Wear the socks you plan to wear with your shoes.
  3. Place a piece of paper on a hard floor next to a wall.
  4. Place your heel lightly against the wall and put normal weight on your foot.
  5. Mark where the longest toe ends.
  6. Measure the distance from the edge of the paper to the mark.
  7. Repeat with the other foot, starting from the longer one.
  8. Add 0.5 cm and compare the result with the table.

Check the fit

The heel should be stable and the midfoot should be held in place without uncomfortable pressure. The toes should be able to move freely both laterally and vertically.

Try the shoes on an incline. Your foot should not slide forward and your toes should not hit the front edge when running downhill. If the length feels right but your heel moves, a heel-locking lacing system can improve the fit.
