Nikwax Down Wash Direct 300ml is a specially developed technical down detergent , designed to clean and revive both regular and hydrophobic down . It removes dirt and body oils that otherwise degrade the down's insulating properties, while restoring loft, warmth and water repellency.
Unlike regular detergents, Down Wash Direct cleans without damaging the down's structure. The result is down clothing and sleeping bags that insulate better, dry faster and keep you warmer and drier – perfect for outdoor activities, skiing and expeditions in cold and damp climates.
The product is water-based, PFC-free, non-flammable and easy to use directly in the washing machine.

Machine wash – down clothing
Remove all traces of regular detergent from the detergent compartment
Add a maximum of 2 items
Add 100 ml
Wash according to the garment's care label (preferably low temperature & low spin)
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat if allowed
Pull apart down clumps several times during drying to restore loft
💡 For stubborn stains – apply Down Wash Direct immediately before washing.
❌ Do not use regular detergents or fabric softeners.
Sleeping bags: Hand wash or use a professional washing machine.
