With no steel edge, the Breidablikk was developed for those who leave for the backcountry with their dog, whether for hunting or simple companionship.

The Breidablikk is a superb hunting ski with a soft tip and sidecut of 22mm, making it easy to turn and offering control in demanding terrain with reassuring support and float on deeper snow.

You do not need to be a hunter to remark on the Breidablikk’s suitability for long winter hikes in moderate terrain.

A faithful companion in the mountain.

Breidablikk skis are equipped with our Skinlock, ready for an X-Skin climbing skin to be attached in an instant for climbing or secure grip on challenging snow conditions.

Selecting length

Choosing the right length

Ski length is determined according to body weight and height. The table below is only a guide, however – experience, skill, terrain and individual needs can all influence your choice of length.

Generally speaking, moving through rugged terrain calls for shorter skis than the open mountain plateau. And for beginners, short skis are easier to control. If you’re mainly skiing along tracks, length isn’t the most crucial factor. For good float on deep snow, a slighter wider ski is useful. Lighter skiers might consider a shorter ski; heavier skiers a longer ski. Skiers with loads such as backpacks and sledges might consider a longer ski.

Length is determined based on body length and weight. The table here is intended as an aid and must not be followed slavish. Skills, terrain, weight, backpack and individual needs / habits are factors that influence the choice of length.

General advice: Skiing rough terrain requires shorter skis than open mountain areas. For beginners, it will often be easier with short skis. If the person is lighter than average, the user should consider shorter skis, and vice versa. If you often got heavy load (pulk/sledge), the ski should be a bit longer.
